The Regions of France
Les Jeunes voyageurs en France, ou lettres sur les départemens by Georges Bernard Depping with engravings by Ethiou & Blanchard from drawings by AM Perrot was first published in 1827. It is a 6 book geographical-educational series. There are 104 illustration plates - 90% are regional maps/symbols as above. I'm not sure if those are actual regional coats of arms/symbols - my guess would be that they were produced for the books to display the main industries/foods of each region.
This series is among a large number of illustrated vintage educational books online at l’Institut National de Recherche Pédagogique. There are perhaps ??200 books and they are all illustrated (not all of the illustrations are good and not all of the images are good quality - but they are worth flicking through for the odd gem). They are of course childrens' books.
There are 5 pages in relation to books published after 1750: page I, II, III, IV, V.
The images here come from 3/4 of the way down page III.
[I haven't looked through all of these books and I haven't even opened the pre-1750 pages]
